Just home from Potters Leisure Resort.  Thoroughly enjoyable meal at the Black Rock Restaurant, very different way of eating! And totally enjoyed Rays swing set. He did about 30 minutes with a bit of chat between songs, which included Fly Me to the Moon, Aint that a Kick in the Head, My Way and Mac the Knife. Ray seemed totally relaxed and said he loved being back singing on stage.  He was in strong fine voice and looked very smart in jacket and tie!

He got a great reception from the audience and was available afterwards for autographs and photos - there was quite a long queue but he said it was lovely to meet everyone. He mentioned going into Dirty Dancing and said he would be doing a bit of hip grinding and also mentioned the pantomime in Northampton which he was looking forward to doing with his girlfriend. Hope everyone else who went had as enjoyable a time as I did!

Hi everyone! Had an awesome time listening to Ray sing swing! He was great. Great vocals and backing tracks.  As Alfie said he seemed so relaxed on stage and enjoyed his patter between songs. Very slick and professional.Loved his whole repertoire.  He came on quite late and didn't finish til I guess about 11.15 and then said he would be around for about 30 minutes for photos etc. We got out quickly fortunately as the queue became quite long,  (I imagine he was there for longer than 30 minutes!) but we were able to congratulate him on the performance and wish him every success in Dirty Dancing. He was so friendly chatty and polite to everyone. He was so well received by the audience and he had quite a few up dancing for his encore, which was Mac the Knife. Such a versatile and talented guy!

Congratulations to Ray on a superb professional show last night.  Great rapport with the audience in a more intimate setting and lovely to see him singing the music he loves. A thoroughly enjoyable evening!

Have you got a Photobucket account, if so load them up there and then use the direct link to post in this box using the little picture sign. Or send them to Amanda and she will post them for you. She should be home from work in a couple of hrs. If you can't wait send them to me and i'll post them for you. My email is on my profile page. Good luck.

Hello everyone, just got back from Potters - it was a 5 hour drive but worth every mile to see Ray. Just a quick word about Potters which is a fabulous holiday complex and  much better than I was expecting. I can understand why Ray would choose to perform there, as they have some good acts on and it's a classy place.

I know a few people have already done reviews but make no apologies for doing another!!.

Ray came on to the stage at about 10.45 after there had been a bit of banter from the resident announcer about this height and Ray joked about this when he first came on the stage. He had on a pale blue jacket, brown jeans and a white shirt.  What was so lovely about this performance was that Ray was very chatty. He told us about watching the England match with his dad - even though he isn't a football fan - and then went on to talk about the X factor. He said it had been brilliant to do and had led to the most wonderful 4 years and he was proud of himself and so was his mum - which got loads of "ahhs" from the audience! He then said about going into Dirty Dancing and about appearing in pantomine with his lovely girlfriend. He was really modest about it all.. He said it was months since he had done a show like this - but you couldn't tell that from his performance

I was so overcome at actually being there and being in the front row that I can't remember what he sang first, but his second song was "ain't that a kick in the head"  He then did "Smile" which I adore (all songs were ones he did on X factor) He then introduced My way by saying that "this was the song where Simon dropped the phone" He sang it really well. When he went off they got him back for an encore and he did "Mack the Knife" which for me was the performance of the night- fantastic.

I then made a mad dash to get in the queue to speak to him, - and honestly  I know from the TV that Ray  is nice looking but it was only seeing him so close that I realised he is GORGEOUS- all that lovely dark  hair  and the blue jacket really suited him. He honestly looked like a film star!

When it was my turn I told him about my son's stepdaughter who goes to the Chiltern Dance School in Liverpool and that she would soon be appearing in the school's show at the Empire "like you used to" - to which he replied "yeah that's right" and gave me a big grin and said  "tell me her name" I told him and he wrote her name and put "love Ray x" which she will be so thrilled to get.

I had mislaid my husband somewhere  in the theatre and had no one to take a photo so Ray asked one of the security guys to take it.  As it was being taken I told him he had been fantastic and would be brilliant in Dirty Dancing!!

I couldn't get over how fabulous he was to everyone, there were loads of people in the queue and he was lovely to them all.

The other fab thing was how people respond to Ray - the audience loved him and the whole vibe in the room was lovely.

I can't wait to see him in Dirty Dancing.

I got quite a lot of photos so will get my son to tell me how to get them on to the website.
